Pre 1993
Lee Brookes took part in many 100cc Karting races, winning various championships including the Kart/SuperKart championship.
1993
Lee and his father, known as Brookes Motorsport, finish 4th in the Renault Clio Cup at their first attempt. The only privateers to finish in the top ten, they also scopped the rookie of the year award.

1994
Lee finishes 3rd in the Clio series, taking 4 race wins on the way
1995
Lee wins the Clio Cup with the Brookes Motorsport team, who also ran Paula Sears and Niki Faulkner.

1996
Lee won on his first attempt at the British Touring Car Championship, in a Toyota Carina, which became the most reliable car in the field, finishing 25 out of 26 races - a feat matched only by the Works Audi A4 of Frank Biela.
In addition, the team ran two cars in the Ford Credit Fiesta Championship, finishing second in the Junior Cup with Stephen Stokoe.

1997
Lee is once more entered as an independent in the BTCC, and takes the runner up spot in the championship with a Peugeot 406.

1998
once more the team finish second in the Total Cup for Independents, this time with the 1990 BTCC Champion Rob Gravett at the wheel of a Honda Accord. Lee and Rob also contested in the Bathurst 1000, 2 driver race in Australia.
1999
Lee takes 4th in the Total Cup in the Accord, despite missing a few meetings through an injury.

Brookes Motorsport becomes Total Control Racing, and the team return to the newly re-established Clio series, fielding cars for David Davies, Henry Taylor, Garry Townsend and Bob Smith, and taking Henry within a point of the runner up spot in the championship with 4 race wins.
In the inaugural five meeting Clio winter series, the team take Tom Ferrier and Bob Smith to second and third in the championship respectively.

| 2001 |
2001 saw TCR's return to Touring Cars, fielding Jim Edwards Jr in a Super Production Honda Accord.
Once more a Clio squad of four cars contested the Elf Clio Renaultsport UK Cup, driven by Ray MacDowall, Bob Smith, Jim Edwards Sr. and Jason Templeman.
Both Clio and Touring Car teams acheived race wins during the course of the season.
